NUI Galway, your National F*&%king Treasure is coming to you!

Join National F*&%king Treasure, Performance Legend and Accidental Activist – Panti Bliss – in her hit comedy High Heels in Low Places, as she hitches up her skirt and hitchhikes to NUI Galway this November. Panti will be glamming up the O’Flaherty Theatre on Monday 17th November at 8pm.

SU Life Skills Programme Update

Upcoming courses we still have spaces in this semester are:

  • 3 Day Occupational First Aid Course (Friday 31st Oct, Friday 7th Nov & Friday 14th Nov) Cost: €100 (usually €160)
  • Anti-Racism Training Course Thursday 6th November 10am-1.30pm Cost: €5

Support Galway’s Bid to become European Youth Capital

Galway is in the final four cities hoping to be named European Youth Capital for 2017. On the 19th of November we will find out if we have won this honour! Please support the bid by liking the Facebook Page and following us on Twitter.

Perspectives on International Volunteering in Higher Education – Free Conference Sat 29th November.

The UCD International Student Volunteering Conference welcomes all students to this free day to learn, develop & network! Connacht Rugby Tickets

We now have €10 NUIG student tickets on sale for the Connacht vs Zebre match at 7.35pm on Friday 21st November. Tickets available from SU Office (Mon-Fri 10am-5pm) and SU Engineering Desk (Mon-Fri 11am-3pm).

Free Microsoft Office

All NUI Galway students are now entitled to Microsoft Office as part of the university’s agreement with Microsoft. Further information is available HERE.

SU Enterprise Awards 2015 – Now Open!

The SU Enterprise Awards are now accepting applications and there is a €23,000 prize fund up for grabs! If you have a great idea for a business or a social enterprise make sure you get your entry in early. Closing date for entries is 5pm Friday 28th November.


SU Charities for 2014/15 – want to help us?

For the 2014/15 academic year we will be fundraising for Console and BeLonG To. Console is a national organisation supporting people in suicidal crisis and those bereaved by suicide through professional counselling, support and helpline services. BeLongTo support lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people in Ireland. If you want to volunteer to help out with our fundraising events or have an idea for an event please email 


Run for Ger

Geraldine Lavelle, a 27-year-old NUI Galway graduate, is recovering from serious injuries sustained in a cycling accident last October. On Sunday 16th of November at 11am there will be a fundraising walk/run at NUI Galway to help raise funds for her rehabilitation. You can sign up online to take part now for just €10 here.
