Financial Aid Fund Applications Close Fri 30th Sept
The Financial Aid Fund is intended to tackle disadvantage by providing financial support to students who require financial support to enable them to fully benefit from their third level studies. As part of Mental Health Week NUI Galway Students’ Union Presents comedian Neil Delamere & Support at 8pm on Monday 3rd October in the O’Flaherty Theatre.
Tickets are just €5 and are on sale from the SU Office and the SU Engineering Desk (Card Only) now.

European Car Free Day TODAY – FREEBIES!
Anyone who uses a Coke-Zero Bike in Galway today will be entered into a draw for €500 bicycle vouchers and you can also join as a new annual member free-of-charge.
The Galway Cycle Hub at Eyre Square, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, will include:
- Membership promotion by An Rothar Nua with free registration available on site
- Coca Cola Zero pop-up ‘cycle café’ enjoy complimentary pastries, sandwiches and refreshments without ever leaving your bike.
- ‘Bike Doctor’ giving free consultation and basic repairs
- Local bike shop promotion, with selection of bikes
The Galway Scheme will be expanded, with the construction of nine new stations by end of 2016 with three on NUIG campus.

NUI Galway Charity 8k – This Saturday!
Registration is now open for the NUI Galway 8k run/jog/walk/crawl in aid of Jigsaw at 10am on Saturday 24th of September. You can still register online here now or up to 9am on Saturday in person at the Kingfisher.

Are You Registered to Vote?
If you want to register to vote, the RFA form is available in the SU or here online. The form has to be sent to your County Council before Monday the 31st of October. To find your local County Council, have a look here. If anyone has any questions contact Cathal, the SU Education Officer, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Lockers – Only 245 left (Engineering Building & Áras Moyola Only)
You need to register online first at www.su.nuigalway.ie and you can either pay online and collect your key at your leisure OR your locker will be reserved for a 3 day period during which you can call up to the SU to collect your key and pay for same. PLEASE NOTE: after the 3 days your reservation expires if you don’t call in to pay.
Please note that keys for lockers in Áras Moyola and the Engineering Building can only be collected at the SU Engineering Desk in the Engineering Building foyer Monday – Friday 11am-3pm. The Engineering Building desk only takes card payment – no cash.

Struggling with Maths?
SUMS the FREE maths support centre service offers FREE mathematics support to students across all colleges and courses as well as to students engaged in Access/Foundation courses. SUMS opens from 2pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday, during the academic year.
Learn how to create 3D printable objects using the SketchUp Make software. SketchUp Make is an easy to learn, intuitive and powerful 3D drawing tool. After this 1-hour workshop you will be able to create 3D objects and ready to move on to using the more advanced features available in the software.

Student Leap Cards now just €10
The shiny new Student Leap Cards are available now from the Students’ Union office upstairs in Áras na Mac Léinn between 10am and 5pm Monday to Friday. All you need to do is bring yourself, your new college ID, €10 and a smile for the photo we will take of you. These are valid until the 31st of December 2017.

Cáca Dána Theatre presents “All the World’s A Cage”
Thursday 6th to Saturday 8th of October 2016 at 8.30pm in Town Hall Theatre Studio. Tickets €8 or €5 concession. Cáca Dána is a new theatre company founded by NUI Galway Alumni.
Mental Health & Well-being Summit Volunteers
The Mental Health & Well-being summit takes place on October 14th in the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. This event will feature talks and workshops across many disciplines on how Mental Health effects all of us and how we can create prevention in addition to a cure. They are looking for volunteers to help out on the day (giving directions, registration, setting up rooms etc.) If you are interested please email firstname.lastname@example.org More Info on the Summit.
