Please Note: Polling for the Societies Chair Election will ONLY take place 10am-7pm in An Bhialann and only Society Auditors may vote in this election – one vote per society.

Postgraduate Officer & Clubs’ Captain Nominations Close 5pm TODAY

Nominations close at 5pm for the last two part time officer positions of Postgraduate Officer and Clubs’ Captain. Nomination forms are available from the SU Office and Website. Completed nomination forms must be returned to the box in the SU office before 5pm TODAY Thursday 9th March. The election takes place next Thursday 16th of March 11am-4pm in Smokey’s Café. Max the Labrador puppy is the newest member of the Students’ Union team and he will be in our office 10am-12pm every Wednesday to meet you, go for walks with you or just lick your face. Call in and get some puppy love!

New Officers Elected and Referendum Passed

Thanks to everyone who came out and voted last Thursday. The Referendum on Irish reunification was passed and you elected Lorcán President, Megan VP/Welfare and Andrew VP/Education as your Full Time SU Officers for 2017/18. The will join Emily your SU Council Chair and the other part time officers who will be elected today and next Thursday.

College Campus Radio Ltd. (operator of Flirt FM 101.3) are seeking nominations for Student Representatives to their Board of Directors for the coming year.

They are looking for current NUI Galway Students that will be in university next academic year 2017-18, that will work well as part of a team, contribute reasoned opinion and accept and support decisions reached by the Board and are able to commit the time and resources to serve on the Board and committees, as requested.

Attention College of Science Students & Staff

Kickathon Tuesday 21st March

On Tuesday 21st March NUIG Muay Thai Club will be holding a Kickathon to support the kids of the temple of the Golden Horse, in northern Thailand. The monk Khru Bah, ex Muay Thai professional fighter, dedicates his life on helping the people in the surrounding villages and training orphans, caring that they all have enough to eat, a place to stay and a good education towards the Buddhist principles, horse keeping and Muay Thay.

You can support the event on Tuesday 21st March by attending the Bake Sale in Smokey’s Café 9am-4pm or by attending the club demonstration of 1,000 kicks 7.25pm-9.30pm in the Kingfisher. There’ll also be a DJ and other activities at the Kickathon.

NUIG Climate Congress FREE Tickets

Free tickets available now for the 3rd annual climate congress at NUIG on Tuesday the 21st of March. Entry is free and this year’s theme is divestment and sustainable choices.
