The SU Free Cloakroom is open 9am-6pm Thursdays and Fridays during term. It’s located near the SU XL Shop.


Student Survey Open – Win Prizes!

The National Student Survey is your chance to make a difference to the future of students at NUI Galway. The survey is open to: First Year Undergrad, Final Year Undergrad and Taught Postgrad students. There are lots of prizes to be won by filling out the survey too.

Zero Waste Workshop 7pm Today

Eliminate the need and the effect of generating waste. Tadhg Moore will provide us with tips and tricks to adopt a zero waste lifestyle 7pm-9pm today Thursday 7th February in Meeting Room 1 upstairs in Áras na Mac Léinn.

The Academic Writing Centre is Open

Drop into them in the library, if you’d like to work on your writing. Their one-on-one tutorials are FREE. Opening hours are as follows and no appointment necessary – just call in!

  • Monday: 6pm-8pm
  • Tuesday: 11am-1pm & 6pm-8pm
  • Wednesday: 11am-1pm & 6pm-8pm
  • Thursday: 11am-1pm plus, if you are an Access student, you can also come in on Thursday 4pm-6pm.


Parents Needed for Psychology Study

We are looking for parents with a toddler (2.5 – 5 years old) to take part in a short study looking at how parents and children experience “everyday” pains like bumps, scrapes, and cuts. Parents will complete a short questionnaire each evening for two weeks (4-5 mins per evening). Chance to win €50 One4All vouchers!

Pool Lifeguard RENEWAL Course

The Swimming Club are running a pool lifeguard renewal course this semester for 3-4 Monday nights in a row starting Monday 18th of February with the test on the final night.

NUIG Postgrad Ball Early Bird Tickets On Sale

The Postgrad Ball will be held in the Clayton Hotel on Thursday the 7th of March. Early bird tickets (€45) will be on sale today (Thurs 7th Feb) from 12pm -2pm in Meeting Room 1 upstairs in Áras na Mac Léinn. Early bird tickets will be available online and from the SocsBox until the 10th February. Tickets will be available online and from the SocsBox after this for €50.


Mikkeller Running Club This Sunday

Mikkeller Running Club is back at 12.30pm this Sunday 10th February. Head down to the Salthouse and join them for a 5/8/10k sociable run along the Prom with a free beer at the end!


Does your Club or Society need €1000?

Simply make a short 3 minute video on STEM and your association and submit it to in the ReelLife Science video competition to be in with a chance of winning and a screening at Galway Science and Technology Festival 2019. Join Galway Sanctuary Runners this Saturday

The first Galway Sanctuary Runners run takes places this Saturday 9th February at 9.30am in Knocknacarra and you are invited to get involved. The Sanctuary Runners enable Irish People to run alongside, and in solidarity with, those in Direct Provision thereby fostering friendship, positivity and respect while bringing greater awareness to the system in which asylum seekers live. The run will be the 5km free, timed Parkrun in Knocknacarra.


Galway 2020 Volunteer Recruitment Event

Galway 2020 will be holding their Volunteer Recruitment Event 3pm-6pm on Saturday the 16th of February in Tribeton. They are looking for Wave Makers to join their team. There’ll be lots of information about volunteering along with free finger food and music on the day!
