Happy Christmas Day NUIG!
We are holding a massive Christmas Day fundraiser in the College Bar with BizSoc TODAY to raise money for Galway Rape Crisis Centre and the Irish Cancer Society. There will be traditional Christmas carols, cheesy Christmas tunes with DJ Byrno, a full turkey dinner and a whole lot of other Festive merriment! Get your tinsel, mistletoe and jumper ready now!
The official after party will be held in Electric Garden & Theatre and Four/Four TONIGHT to continue the Yuletide vibes. €5 wristbands for the after party are on sale in the SU Office now and all proceeds go to Galway Rape Crisis Centre and the Irish Cancer Society.
Exam Timetables Out Now

We will be working with City Direct again to provide a bus service to/from the Salthill Exam Venues.
Extra EXPLORE Funding now available for Undergrad projects
Explore – NUI Galway’s staff/student innovation initiative received a large number of high-quality applications for the 2015-2016 academic year. Targeted funding is now currently available to support three additional EXPLORE projects from NUI Galway undergraduate students and their staff partners. Apply by noon on Monday, 23rd November 2015.

Student Leap Card Vouchers Expire 30th November
Just a reminder that if you have a voucher from AIB for the Student Leap Card that you need to bring it in to us before the 30th of November to get your travelcard for €3. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Friday and we will take your photo and print the card off straight away. If you don’t have one of the vouchers the Student Leap Card costs €15 and they expire 31st December 2016.

Every class is entitled to a Class Representative to represent their class. If your class does not have a Class Rep your voice will not be heard. AIDS West World AIDS Day Memorial Concert 7pm Tuesday 1st December
This is an open invitation to the students of NUI Galway to come to this free concert on Tuesday 1st December at 7pm in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church, Galway and show their solidarity with those living with HIV and help challenge the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV.Bel Canto and Cois Cladaigh will perform on the night.

Volunteers needed for Galway Science and Technology Festival
Volunteer for the festival showcase in the Bailey Allen Hall Sunday 22nd November. Free lunch for all volunteers and the chance to build your skills engaging with youth, public, research partners and businesses. Build experience in event management, science outreach, communication and public relations.
Simon Cumbers Media Fund Student Scheme 2016
Applications are now being accepted for the Simon Cumbers Media Fund Student Scheme 2016. The Scheme invites students across Ireland to apply to research and report on a particular issue in developing countries. It awards students with funding to travel to these countries to produce media projects focusing on development issues. ROPES 2016 are now looking for aspiring writers in all disciplines to contribute to our annual literary journal. Our theme is Independence and our charity that we have chosen to support is the Simon Community. Poetry, Prose and Art submissions are all welcome.
