Colm Duffy

Postgraduate Officer
My name is Colm Duffy, I hold a BSc in International Development & Food Policy, and MSc in Climate Change and Agriculture and I am currently doing a PhD in Climate Smart Agriculture. I am the founder and Auditor of the CCAFS Society, Treasurer of the Organic Garden Society, and I am also the Director of the Fossil Free NUIG campaign. In addition I am also a member of the Community and University Sustainability Team here in NUIG. My role in the SU is to represents the interests and needs of Postgraduate students. I am here to help you with any and all issues that you may have, and I encourage you to contact me with questions, queries and issues. I am committed to ensuring that my fellow students get the most of their experience in NUIG.

Responsibilities

The Postgraduate Officer is responsible for developing Students’ Union policy on postgraduate issues and lobbying for improved induction, training, services and facilities for postgraduate students. They work closely with the Vice-President/Education Officer on postgraduate related issues and encourages postgraduate involvement in the Union and in University life.
