SU Weekly Email 14 – 11th December 2014

Weekly Email

Welcome to your weekly email from your Students’ Union.

Following intense lobbying by the Students’ Union and the Student Health Unit there has been an update on the Exams Deferral protocol:
For the academic year 2014/15 a new policy on deferrals has been introduced, under the terms of which being granted a deferral in one examination automatically triggers a deferral of all subsequent examinations in that Examination session.
However, Staff of the College Office on behalf of the Dean may now grant exemptions from this policy, allowing the student to defer one or more exams without the requirement to defer all subsequent examinations in a single session. Supporting evidence will be required.
If you have any queries about this please contact the SU Education Officer, Phelim Kelly on su.education@nuigalway.ie

NUI Galway Students’ Union Charity Christmas Day 20th November 2014

Uncategorized

NUI Galway Students’ Union Christmas Day comes early again this year!

We are holding a massive Christmas Day fundraiser in the College Bar with BizSoc on Thursday 20th of November to raise money for Console and BeLonG To. There will be a traditional Christmas dinner, carols, cheesy Christmas tunes with DJ Byrno and lots of prizes for the best/worst Christmas jumpers along with a whole lot of other Festive merriment! Get your tinsel, mistletoe and jumper ready now!

Santa also needs some helper volunteers to assist with the fundraising on the day so if you have an hour or two to spare between 11am and 6pm on Thursday 20th November email studentsunion@nuigalway.ie to sign up and you will definitely be on Santa’s nice list this year.

The official after party (the Christmas Day Superclub) sees Electric Garden & Theatre and 44 Club Galway combining on the night to continue the Yuletide vibes, wristbands will be on sale in advance and on-the-day for the after party.
