Study on Facebook and Narcissim
We at National University of Ireland Galway are conducting a study on narcissism and how it correlates with various Facebook activities of users. For this purpose we have developed a Facebook app that requests your data while asking you to complete a narcissism survey which will not take much of your time (only about 5-10 minutes). At the end a narcissism score will be generated based on which you can assess whether or not you are a narcissist.
Here is the link for the app: http://unhp.com.pk/experiments/my_app/ you have to click Okay for Facebook authorization (or login with your Facebook account if you are not logged in). This will then take you to survey and you can fill it according to given instructions.
Please note there is a €50 cash prize for one lucky draw winner of all the participants who will complete this study.

Increase in Thefts of Bikes from NUI Galway
The Gardai have been in touch with us regarding the increase in bike thefts from NUI Galway. They warned that students using inferior, cheap locks are leaving themselves open to theft. If you are leaving your bike overnight or over the weekend please use the Bike Compound near the Bank of Ireland. This compound is purpose built, accessible only with your ID card and near the University Security office. Please invest in a good lock for your bike and take a note of the serial number on your bike so that you can report this to the guards in the event that it is stolen.

Welcome to your weekly email from your Students’ Union.
Following intense lobbying by the Students’ Union and the Student Health Unit there has been an update on the Exams Deferral protocol:
For the academic year 2014/15 a new policy on deferrals has been introduced, under the terms of which being granted a deferral in one examination automatically triggers a deferral of all subsequent examinations in that Examination session.
However, Staff of the College Office on behalf of the Dean may now grant exemptions from this policy, allowing the student to defer one or more exams without the requirement to defer all subsequent examinations in a single session. Supporting evidence will be required.
If you have any queries about this please contact the SU Education Officer, Phelim Kelly on su.education@nuigalway.ie
